Te Mata Estate Sauvignon Blanc ’21 is brilliant white gold, and packed with the aromasof tropical fruit, from guava to pineapple, ripe grapefruit, Key lime and passionfruit. Concentrated and long, the palate shows more weight with nectarine, white peach and a fine sea-salt edge that only adds to the wine’s ripe, thirst-quenching character. Quintessentially Hawke’s Bay, Te Mata Estate Sauvignon Blanc ’21 delivers new dimensions of freshness and appeal.
Wine Storage Suggestions
Estate Sauvignon Blanc ’21 can be enjoyed immediately upon release and will continue to develop in bottle for two years from harvest.
Total acidity as tartaric: 6.7g/l
Residual sugar: Dry
With sauvignon blanc grapes of such quality, minimal winemaking means the finer aromatics and flavours are preserved. At the winery, the grapes were chilled, gently pressed, and the juice cold-settled before fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
The grapes for Estate Sauvignon Blanc ’21 were harvested between 25 February and 8 March 2021 from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards in the Bridge Pa Triangle and Havelock Hills sub-region of Hawke’s Bay. Hawke’s Bay’s warm climate and free draining soils produce sauvignon blanc with ripe fruit characters, balanced by fresh acidity, without the need for residual sugar.
Sourced exclusively from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards, the Estate wines are blended to represent the best qualities of their variety, vintage and Hawke’s Bay origin.
