A beautiful crystalline lemon in colour, Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 has the immediate refreshing appeal of ripe peach, grapefruit lemonade, and fresh, juicy pineapple. On the palate, nougat, roast cashew, and barrel char combine with white pear and candied lemon to drive the concentrated fruit flavours to a fine, dry finish. Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 – a thoroughly modern Hawke’s Bay chardonnay.

Wine Storage Suggestions
Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 will continue to evolve in bottle for two to four years from harvest.

WINEMAKING                                                                                                    Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 combines the best of traditional and modern winemaking. This involved tank fermentation to preserve the vibrant varietal aromas and clear, fresh fruit expression along with some barrel fermentation, barrel maturation on gross lees, and malolactic fermentation to enhance the complexity, richness and integration.

VINEYARDS                                                                                                            The grapes for Estate Vineyards Chardonnay ’20 were harvested between 21 February and 5 March 2020 from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards in the Woodthorpe Terraces, Havelock Hills and Bridge Pa Triangle sub-regions of Hawke’s Bay

ORIGIN
