TASTING NOTES 1993
1993 Bullnose Syrah has a mid-ruby colour, an aroma of ripe plums, spice, mushrooms and pepper.
On the palate it shows subtle characters of spicy oak, ripe berries and a soft tannin finish.
1993 Bullnose Syrah will gain further improvement in the bottle for 4-8 years from harvest.
It ideally accompanies delicatessen meats, red meats, lightly spicy and gamey foods, and cheese.
Total acidity as tartaric: 6.8g/l
Residual sugar: Dry
The grapes were destemmed, crushed, then fermented and macerated on skins for three weeks.
The wine was then barrel aged for fourteen months during which time it topped, racked and fined.
1993 Bullnose Syrah was hand harvested on the 12th May.
Michael Morris and Peter Cowley, vineyard partners and old car enthusiasts, named this wine after the pre-1928 Morris Cowley car, nicknamed Bullnose due to its distinctive radiator. The bull emblem of the label is drawn from the Bullnose car’s radiator crest.
