The grapes are destemmed and crushed, the juice is drained, settled and then one-third is fermented in a mixture of new and older oak barrels. The remainder is fermented in stainless steel. The wine was blended and bottled in early October.

Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc 1993 is a dry white wine with a golden/green colour, an aroma of figs, smoke and vanilla, and a full crisp palate with flavours of toast. It will be at its peak at between one and three years from harvest.

Cape Crest and its gannet symbol refer to Cape Kidnappers, the southern point of Hawke Bay, home to the world’s largest mainland colony of these remarkable marine birds.
1993 Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc is made from hand-harvested grapes off a 4 acre vineyard at Te Awanga, the nearest settlement to Cape Kidnappers.
If you’re ordering for New Zealand delivery the charges are $9 per 6 or 12-pack for North Island courier delivery and $12 per 6 or 12-pack for the South Island. Deliveries are made on weekdays to physical addresses, usually within five working days.
