Tasting Notes 2002
Woodthorpe Sauvignon Blanc 2002 has a bright green colour, with a nose and palate of fresh, ripe gooseberry, feijoa, and dill with a full and supple mid-palate and a persistent finish.
Woodthorpe Sauvignon Blanc 2002 is best enjoyed, chilled as an aperitif, or as an accompaniment to fresh shellfish, seafood soups and salads, and lightly spiced white meat dishes.
It is released ready to drink and will continue to improve in bottle for 12-18 months from harvest.
Total acidity as tartaric:6.8g/l
Residual sugar: Dry
The grapes were destemmed and crushed before being chilled and drained. The resulting juice was then fermented to dryness at cold temperatures to retain the fruit characters. The new wine was then racked before aging for three months and then bottled in mid-August.
Woodthorpe Sauvignon Blanc 2002 is made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grapes hand harvested from our vineyards between the 15th and the 26th March 2002.
Sourced exclusively from Te Mata Estate’s own vineyards, the estate vineyards wines are blended to represent the best qualities of their variety, vintage and Hawke’s Bay origin.
